Park Place Dealerships Go Red for Women

Park Place Dealerships will be going red inside and out in support of the American Heart Association’s National Wear Red Day Friday, February 5, 2010.
Park Place Dealerships will donate $25 to the American Heart Association for every test drive* at any Dallas-Fort Worth dealership on Friday, February 5 or Saturday, February 6. Driver must inform sales person they are taking the “Go Red for Women test drive” before test drive in order for Park Place to credit the donation to the American Heart Association.
In addition, Park Place Dealerships is allowing its employees to wear jeans with a red shirt or blouse February 5th in exchange for a $5 donation to AHA.
Women are encouraged to take the “Go Red Heart CheckUp,” a free interactive online assessment tool that helps women take charge of their heart health. Simply enter your information into the questionnaire at www.GoRedForWomen.org. Within seconds, you’ll get an easy-to-read report that evaluates your risk of having a heart attack or other cardiovascular event within the next decade. It also identifies risk factors that can be changed and provides a personalized action plan that can be printed and used for discussing heart health with your doctor.
Women & Heart Health Facts:
• While 1 in 30 American women die of breast cancer, almost 1 in 3 will die from cardiovascular disease.
• Research shows that 80% of cardiac events in women could be prevented if women made the right choices for their hearts involving diet, exercise and abstinence from smoking.
• African-American and Mexican-American women have higher heart disease and stroke risk factors than white women of comparable socioeconomic status.
• Heart disease rates in post-menopausal women are two to three times higher than in pre-menopausal women of the same age.

*Park Place Dealerships will donate $25 to the American Heart Association per authorized test drive up to a maximum donation of $10,000. Only test drives at participating Dallas-Fort Worth area Park Place Dealerships on Feb. 5 and Feb. 6, 2010 are eligible. Promotion is only open to drivers age 21 and older with proof of liability insurance and a current driver’s license.
