The New 2013 Rolls-Royce Phantom Series II
Posted By: - 2012-06-21
One reviewer beautifully captures the Rolls-Royce Phantom Series II in two words: "effortless serenity." The new Phantom Series II radiates charisma in a design that's one for the ages.
Most passengers vie for the front seat next to the driver. That's not the case with the 2013 Rolls-Royce Phantom Series II available for sale at Park Place Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Dallas dealership. Sitting in the rear seats is as luxurious as sitting in the front passenger seat. Rear seat passengers can even go to the movies with the available theatre configuration that allows them to watch TV or a DVD on one or both of the two 12" screens.
When you pull into the dealership and set your eyes on the 2013 Phantom Series II, the first thing that will captivate you is the new front-end design with the full rectangle LED headlamps available as standard. These aren't ordinary LED lights as they have the ability to adapt to weather and lighting conditions.
Passengers who have never ridden in a Rolls-Royce will change their definition of comfort as their feet rest on the thick lambswool rug. They'll also discover a space of their own thanks to the C-pillars. The flat floor and roomy rear interior will surprise and amaze first-timers who never knew such a spacious, homey environment was possible in a vehicle. Most couldn't ask for anything more. Yet there's more with the front and rear seats now have heating as a standard feature.
You never know what the weather will be like in Dallas or any other Texas city, so you keep an umbrella in your car. Alas, it disrupts the indulgent experience when passengers enter or exit their private space as they have to move the umbrella around. Rolls-Royce designers are a clever lot as they've hidden an umbrella in both rear doors.
One of the best ways to ensure a safe driving experience is by creating a holistic space with intuitive controls for the driver. That means designing everything to work in harmony, and indeed the advanced technology, controls and new infotainment system sing the same tune. One such advanced technology is the 8.8" monitor with its new hard drive-based navigation system for when you're on the road and DVD viewing capabilities for breaks between destinations.
The power delivered from the direct-injection V12 engine matches Phantom's commanding existence. For effortless acceleration, the sedan reserves over 90% of its power even when going 70 mph. The 2013 Phantom has a new 8-speed gearbox to provide more gearing options and to reduce CO2 emissions for consuming less fuel.
Having more gears creates a feeling of silky, continual acceleration regardless of the current speed. "Both the Phantom sedan and the coupe tackled the roads in the south of France with confidence, and for sure their imposing road presences cause many passers-by to take pause to view the car," writes Patrick Hong in the Road & Track review of the 2013 Rolls-Royce Phantom Series II.
Also new in the 2013 Rolls-Royce Phantom Series II is the camera system that offers more than just a rear camera. The camera system includes a top view camera that has a 360-degree view from above. Complementing that are wing mirrors and a rear path prediction setting that watches for potential obstacles in every direction. Together, the system produces a stress-free parking and reversing experience.
"While we appreciate instant information, more than ever we also seek peacefulness by turning things off!" Hong writes. "And the new 2013 Rolls-Royce Phantom Series II offers just that, effortless serenity on wheels." Visit Park Place Rolls-Royce in Dallas to discover the definition of effortless serenity.
