Triple Play Raises Half a Million for Charity

The ninth annual Park Place Dealerships - Texas Rangers Triple Play Game Show Spectacular raised a record $540,000 for the Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation. The sold-out fundraiser gave a group of more than 500 fans the opportunity to get up close and personal with Texas Rangers players and coaches, broadcasters and executives at the Hilton Anatole Hotel in Dallas on May 25.

Keeping with the popular game show format, Fielder’s Feud matched Rangers infielders Elvis Andrus, Adrian Beltre, Ian Kinsler, and Michael Young against outfielders Julio Borbon, Nelson Cruz, Mitch Moreland, and David Murphy. The infielders swept the outfielders, winning each round. The popular fundraiser also featured a new game show version of A Minute To Win It. The competition started with pitchers Derek Holland, Colby Lewis, Darren Oliver, and Arthur Rhodes and catcher Yorvit Torrealba competing in a Rubber Bands challenge, TP Pull, Chocolate Tower, and Tic Tac Toe. Colby Lewis proved unbeatable as he dominated every challenge.

For 20 years, the Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation has provided funding and programming to better the lives of children in North Texas. The Foundation has given more than $11 million since 1991 to help youth in crisis, youth education, youth baseball, and youth health.
