A completely new 3.5-liter V6 engine powers the 2012 SLK350 along with direct injection and multi-spark ignition. The optimized 7-speed automatic transmission in the SLK350 engine supplies more power and improved fuel efficiency to rev up 302 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque.

Iconic Mercedes-Benz roadsters have inspired some of the design in the SLK350. The SLK350 also has a new face unlike any other with its strong upright radiator grille giving way to the dramatic lines of the long bonnet toward the cockpit and finishing off with horizontal LED taillights.

The retractable hardtop changes the SLK-Class from coupe to roadster in 20 seconds. When going topless, the SLK350 rear window turns to line up with the curve of the top to provide more trunk room, a feature from the Mercedes-Benz SL-Class. On days when you're in a coupe mood, you can control the transparency of the optional panorama verio-sunroof with Magic Sky Control to view the stars in the Houston skies. Just press the button to change the opacity between light and dark. Now you'll feel like you have an open top on wet or frigid days and even Houston humidity can't stop the SLK-Class from feeling sunny inside.

In its determination to exceed government standards, Mercedes-Benz adds Attention Assist for detecting drowsiness, electric parking brake (EPB) and Adaptive Brake as standard features in the 2012 SLK-Class. The Adaptive Brake system consists of the anti-lock braking system (ABS), acceleration skid control (ASR) system and active yaw control (GMR). Some of the new SLK350 standard equipment includes audio 20 CD with 5.8-inch color display, Bluetooth hands-free system, a USB connection, Neck-Pro head restraints and ECO start/stop function.
