Park Place Porsche Presents the Dallas Porsche World Roadshow

Thanks to all of the Park Place Porsche Dallas clients who attended the Dallas Porsche World Roadshow at Texas Motor Speedway. The Dallas Porsche World Roadshow at Texas Motor Speedway was an exhilarating event that provided driver training, vehicle test drives and showcased every model in the Porsche vehicle line-up. Over 500 registrants attended this event at the Texas Motor Speedway over the three days that it was held. Registrants were first checked in by track security to enter the infield where the event was set-up. Upon entering the field the NASCAR vehicles practicing on the main track could be heard racing their engines - a sound that added to the excitement of the day. There were several hospitality tents set-up in the infield. Registrants entered the main tent for check-in and attended a brief driver's education course before hitting the tracks. After the driver's education course, attendees were broken up into two groups. One group went to the "lead - follow" track to test drive 911's and the other group went to the "road course" track to test drive the Porsche Cayman, Porsche Cayman R, Porsche Spyder and the Porsche Boxster.

Our first test drive was on the "lead-follow" track where we had the opportunity to drive the Porsche Carerra 911, Porsche 911 S, Porsche 911 4S and the Porsche 911 Cabriolet. Participants suited up with a helmet and drove two to a car as they followed a trained instructor through the course. "This was a great chance for clients to put these vehicles through their paces, taking tight turns and picking up speed in the straightaways," said Patrick Huston, General Manager Park Place Porsche Dallas. "Talk about a shot of adrenaline - the Porsche 911 4S was personally my favorite on the track," said Frank Sobyak, Director Online Business Development Park Place Dealerships. "The all-wheel drive and wider stance seemed to provide added agility and control, allowing us to take tight corners at very high speeds." After rotating through the different 911 models, the group went to the "road course" that was set-up with cones outlining a twisted and winding path. Here participants drove the Cayman and Boxster models. We were surprised that we didn't see a single cone knocked over during this event - a testament to the maneuaverability of the Porsche vehicles. Participants drove with a trained Porsche Driver's Education instructor who enabled them to push these vehicles to their limits while still maintaining control. When our test drives were over, we went back to the hospitality tent where beverages and food were served. We chatted with other Porsche enthusiasts and sat in each of the models on display, some of which included a Porsche 911 Turbo, the Porsche Panamera and the Porsche Cayenne.
