More than 500 fans attended the 11th Annual Park Place Dealerships - Dallas Stars Casino Night at Park Place Lexus Plano, where the showrooms and client lounge were transformed into an upscale casino with Dallas Stars players and coaches acting as dealers. By the end of the evening the event had raised more than $200,000 for the Dallas Stars Foundation, which supports local children¹s charities.
"Partnering with the Dallas Stars is always a great deal for us and our clients," said Jordan Case, Park Place Lexus president. "Casino Night provided a chance to get to know the Stars off the ice. When you spend an evening with these guys, you find they are just
regular guys who love giving back to the community. These guys are first-class."
Fans also had the opportunity to mix and mingle with Stars top management, including Stars president Jeff Cogen and coach Dave Tippett, as well as fan favorites Brenden Morrow, Mike Ribiero, Stephane Robidas, Darryl Sydor, Marty Turco and others.
In addition to the casino action, the showroom was filled with incredible sports and entertainment memorabilia for the auction, including autographed Stars jerseys, a Mike Modano Team USA jersey, a Robidas All-Star Game sweater, and signed jerseys from legends Wayne Gretzky and Gordie Howe, and Stars co-General Manager Brett Hull. There were also signed game sticks by various Stars players.
Other collectables included autographed items by Dallas Mavericks Dirk Nowitzki; soccer player David Beckham; and Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger. There were also an electric guitar signed by the Rolling Stones and another signed by U2; and framed
memorabilia signed by Disney stars Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens - "High School Musical 3," Miley Cyrus - "Hannah Montana," Selena Gomez - "Wizards of Waverly Place," and the Jonas Brothers. Then there was the framed Joker photo from the movie, "The Dark Knight" signed by the late Heath Ledger.
"This was definitely our most successful Casino Night," noted Carla Rosenberg, executive director of the Dallas Stars Foundation. "We had a record turnout, and we raised a record amount of money, which enables us to put more money back into the community through our grants."
"Special thanks to Park Place Dealerships for being the title sponsor again," Rosenberg continued, "The
gaming was powered by Tara Energy. The food was provided by Go Fish Ocean Club and dessert was provided by Wendy Crispin Catering. Overall, it was the best Casino Night ever. We¹re very proud of the outcome."
