Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Dallas unveils 2009 Rolls-Royce Phantom Coupé
Beautiful models strolled across the room showcasing fine jewels by
Cartier. A band played softly in the background. Chef Kent Rathbun, owner of Abacus restaurant, was on hand with seared lamb and warm lobster shooters. This was no ordinary cocktail party.
Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Dallas recently hosted a select group to unveil the 2009 Rolls-Royce Phantom Coupé, a new 2-door, driver-oriented grand touring car.
While the stately carriage is hand-crafted with the utmost attention to detail, it is powered by a 6.75-liter V12 engine that generates 453 horsepower. In other words, it will go from 0-to-60 mph in 5.6 seconds Šrivaling many sports cars a fraction of the size.
Through the company's Bespoke program, Rolls-Royce clients may
choose from a palette of 44,000 exterior colors and a wide array of exotic woods and sumptuous leathers. Each body receives five individual coats of paint and lacquer with hand-finishing between each layer. It is then polished for five hours to create an unsurpassed luster. The model unveiled at Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Dallas was a luscious chocolate with a stunning brushed steel hood, sporting a traditional Rolls-Royce grill topped by the majestic "Spirit of Ecstasy."
Rear-hinged, coach-doors allow effortless and graceful entry into the spacious cabin. Of course, the doors close at the touch of a button. While designed to be owner driven, the rear lounge seat is a gently curved sofa that has been described as, "intimate for two yet superbly comfortable for long journeys."
The tailgate (or picnic boot) lowers to provide a seating platform for two, designed to hold more than 300 pounds. It also provides easy access to the 13.9 cubic foot luggage compartment, enough space to accommodate four complete sets of golf clubs.
Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Dallas is located at 5300 Lemmon Avenue, near Love Field.
