Park Place Lexus Plano members donate pajamas and books to help kids in shelters
Park Place Lexus Plano employees recently donated more than 100 pairs of pajamas, several dozen books and hundreds of dollars in cash to the Pajama Program¹s Stuff-a-Bus, which provides books and new pajamas to children across the U.S.
"We wanted to do something to brighten a child's Christmas," said Katie

Stutts, service administrative assistant at Park Place Lexus Plano. "We offered our members the chance to wear jeans to work December 12th in exchange for a donation of cash or new pajamas or books. We also hosted Stuff-a-Bus at our dealership and several clients contributed."

In 2001, Genvieve Piturro, founder and executive director of Pajama Program, started reading books to children in New York shelters. She noticed that the children never changed into pajamas before going to bed, so she asked a staff member if she could bring pajamas. Today, the Pajama Program gives away tens of thousands of pairs of pajamas across the country with more than 1000 volunteers staffing 73 chapters in 42 states, including a Dallas-Fort Worth chapter.
